Debbie, I, too, was excited about Dr. Andrew after seeing him on Christian t.v. but since going to his office three times, I'm seeing red flags everywhere. His book DOES have some great information in it but am disappointed in seeing him as a patient. You have to wait an hour or two even if you have an appointment. Unexpected charges come up on your bill. I haven't gotten straight answers but more like the run around. No one ever explained to me about having treatments and manipulations before getting the bloodwork results. I feel like they are bilking me and my insurance company out of lots of money for questionable treatments. The initial consultation alone cost me over $400.00. All these manipulations showed up on my bill. I called them and told them he didn't do any manipulations and they claim that he did, but that the newer techniques are so subtle most patients don't realize it. I haven't even gotten the results from my bloodwork, yet which is what he claims he begins with on his website. They want you to come in four or five times and take a detox foot bath, which is a total scam, at $35.00 a session. If he is doing this to fill his pockets as a Christian, I am really sick about it. Please email me sometime and let me know your experiences.
Sorry to rant but I am really disgusted with them.
My thoughts: He's lying to patients telling them he is your health coach and will walk with you through your journey. He says he is your friend in the book and on t.v....a very compelling appeal to your emotions. When you get to the office, you wait, and wait, and wait. then you go into a room and wait some more. then Dr. Asa comes in and checks you over. I didn't get that warm fuzzy feeling that he wanted to be my friend. I felt like he wanted to rush through, get done with me and get paid. And, the billing is really confusing and you really have to check them for mistakes. I bet they herd as many patients in there as they possibly can for treatments they don't even need . Oh, and if they don't work it's the patient's fault or the patient doesn't "want" to get well. I didn't feel like he or the staff were really listening to me or cared. Whatever happened to "the first visit is just a free consultation" (which they billed me for more than $400.00). According to the website, they do bloodwork and an evaluation and then prescribe a program customized to the individual. I tell you, this reminds me of the shady t.v. evangelists building their million dollar homes, driving their mercedes and cadillacs and raking in millions of dollars, funded by thousands of little old ladies' meager pennies...or snake oil medicine. I'm sorry but the ion foot detox bath really is a scam. Your body detoxes through sweat, urine, respiration and poop. They said these HUGE chunks of heavy metals came out of the bottom of my foot. I watched them come out of the top of the ion pump thingy, not my foot. the large chunks would have left holes in my feet if that were the case. Go to youtube and watch the videos on this. They must think people are stupid. I am the first to have an open mind to alternative medicine. In fact, I have been seeking more natural means to improving my health. I am convinced that disease is a result of wrong living, bad food and a toxic environment. I agree...treat the root of the problem, not just the symptom. But, I'm no dummy, either. My gut tells me to run the other way but I'm not going to until I get the results of my $500.00 bloodwork. How can you do this and claim to be a Christian. I think that is what is pulling the naive in...Oh, he's a Christian. There you go, hook, line and sinker...what a great marketing strategy.

I’ve just heard that the FDA started experimenting with ionic foot baths. I hope everything goes well and they realize that these machines rather let negative ions in than flush out toxins.
Donna, I'm really glad you posted this. I wish I would have paid more attention when I read it several months ago. Have you been able to find a good natural health practitioner yet?
Hi Miss Donna Lee,
Please remove the comment posted on 6/23/08 asap as this is not a comment approved on my behalf. Thank you.
Dr. Asa will charge you over $500 per visit, very expensive for a chiropractor, and you won't even get to see him. Does not accept insurance because he charges way more than they would allow. Better watch out.
I've been a patient of Dr. Asa's for 2-1/2 years now. He accepts most if not all insurances... always has. During the time I had no insurance, the most I was ever charged for a consultation and adjustment was $40(forty).
He did go through a period of long waits in the waiting room but that's over now. It stopped when he moved into a larger office. To be sure his practice has grown very quicky in the past few years and for a time, there were some "growing pains" to be dealt with. To reiterate, all of that is over now. I generally wait about 10 minutes, at the most, in the waiting room and maybe another 5 minutes in the exam room.
The foot baths are my choice.. sometimes I get them and sometimes I don't. Oh and by the way, the very first time it was offered to me I had the sense to ask if there was a fee before answering yes or no. It was my responsibility to ask that question before answering theirs.
Dr. Asa is a fine physician and a faithful servant of God. His whole heart is to bring people to wellness for God's glory.
I'm sorry that some of you feel the way that you do but you're concept of Dr. Asa's heart and his intentions are COMPLETELY in left field.
He is chosen of God to do what he is doing. It's unfortunate that you have missed that.
DOCTOR Asa claims to be a Dr but NEVER reveals that his Dr's degree is in CHIROPRACTICS. Nowhere in his book does he ever reveal this and it is not publically posted anywhere in his office which is illegal. The reason he does these "subtle" adjustments is because it is the only way he can get insurance companies to pay for office visits. They will not pay for natural health claims WHATSOEVER, but will pay for some chiropractic manipulations. Also, there is absolutly no scientific proof that the footbaths do ANY detoxing whatsoever. Your internal organs and bloodstream will NOT detox through the pores IN YOUR FEET. This is fraudulent! The water will ionize and change color EVEN IF YOU DON'T PUT FEET IN IT! It is also outragous that he prescribes all kinds of remedies for peoples' ailments on his radio show without EVER a bloodtest or ANY examination
of the patient in person. But he quickly blows by a disclaimer along with his long string of one breath cliche's to "see your own Dr" to legally get him off the hook. As far as him being called by "God," the problem I have with that is that nothing he says is scriptural and is just twisting Bible verses to fit whatever will make him money. There IS a lot about false doctrines and false teachers that use scripture for their own profit and their own gain and call it "Godliness." He is a very dangerous deceiver and a fraud when it comes to business ethics. This is NOT godly.
Dr. Asa has two doctorates... one as a Chiropractor and the other in Nutrition. He also has a Masters in Kinesiology. Now, last I heard, if you have a doctorate, you are a doctor... period.
Insurance companies know exactly who he is and what he does. He is on my insurance company's list of accepted healthcare providers under the heading of "Chiropractors". My insurance allows me to have unlimited chiropractic visits with a specified co-pay. All they pay for is the visit, I pay for everything else.
Dr. Asa had me go through extensive blood tests which provided lots of GREAT information.
Dr. Turner, I'm not sure what your beef is, but I'd suggest you work on getting the log out of your own eye before trying to find any possible splinters in Dr. Asa's eyes.
DR. ASA ROCKS. His integrity, heart, and his expertise are 2nd to NONE!
My question is, why doesn't Dr. Asa give his credentials upfront? He leads one to assume that he is an accredited MD, when in fact, he is not even a General Practitioner. I have no problem with him being a Chiropractor or Nutritionist, as long as he claims to be that. It is a little misleading, to say the least.
Excellent point Mr Timbs. Apparently "Miss Margie" is controlled by her emotions instead of factual logic. To state "a Doctor is a Doctor" is so absurb it is ridiculous! That's like saying she'd allow Asa to do brain surgery on her because he is a DR.!
She obviously has fallen victom to his smooth talk and pays money for a footbath that does nothing but wash your feet. For someone that CLAIMS to be a Christian, she obviously doesn't read the Bible much. The Bible clearly states to EXPOSE evil which self serving deception falls into the category of, no matter how small. It also states that no one can judge anothers' heart which she has done claiming his is so good which the Bible also refutes saying everyones' heart is deceitful and wicked, who can know it. I only judge what I have seen him do. I am not the only one either. He has had nurses leave his employ because of his shady deceptions, and the Chiropractic Board is also investigating him. A "faithful servant of God" obeys the laws of the land ordered by Jesus and doesn't use snippets of remanufactured scripture taken out of context to make himself money and win the trust of the ignorant. The Bible calls them "False teachers," and says God will judge them harshly.
Dr. Turner,
Here's a fact for you. You said: "He has had nurses leave his employ". Here's another fact for you: Dr. Asa doesn't hire nurses. He hires various other very highly qualified people, but not nurses.
Additionally, I'm curious about two things.
1. What kind of a Doctor are you? If you are a medical Doctor of any sort, where is your office?
2. Why don't you show any courage in your convictions by confronting Dr. Asa directly ... in private. As I recall, that's what we're supposed to do as Believers.
OK, one more thing. You say he's under investigation. PROVE IT. I've looked online, spoken with the Chiropractic Board offices at both the State and National levels and can find NO EVIDENCE of Dr. Asa Andrew being investigated for anything.
Dr. Asa and his staff are bringing a great revitalization to my health. It's not about his talk, it's about RESULTS. When I do what he (and/or his staff) tell me to do, I get amazing results. When I cherry pick at their advice, I get cherry pickers results.
Dr. Turner, when I read your last entry the one thing that struck me the most was your almost vile hatred and the energy you put toward it's maintenance. Your feelings, at this point, make objective conversation impossible. You take what I say and twist it for your own purposes. As you've done it before, no doubt, once you read this entry, you'll do it again.
If you are of any integrity, you will not hide behind this blog. You will call Dr. Asa's office, introduce yourself, and address your concerns with him directly and civilly, as sibings in Christ should.
May God bless you, Dr. Turner.
I'm just glad this is getting some attention.
Miss Margie, did you ever stop to consider that the reason you're getting great results is because Dr Asa is giving practical nutritional advice? People can give great advice in some areas, and still be really screwed up (disillusioned, fraudulent, or otherwise) in other areas. This doesn't discount their advice, but I certainly wouldn't trust someone that causes as much controversy over his questionable ethics as Asa Andrew does to be my personal physician.
If you want to know about my personal experience w/ Dr Asa you can find it here. And, yes, I discussed all of my concerns with the office manager. She made very little effort to dispel my "misconceptions" and was generally non-conversational.
I just ran across this blog and would like to say a couple of things regarding these comments. Firstly, I am a physician board certified in internal medicine. I have known Dr. Asa for many, many years. He is one of the most brilliant men I know, not to mention one of the most compassionate. In his defense, Dr. Asa actually has 2 board certifications, 2 doctorates, and is currently completing a third. And yes he did attend medical school. I know this because I wrote his recommendation letter. I really suggest always spend time getting the facts before you make assumptions regarding someone's character. Dr. Asa's goal is to help people and give them hope for their lives. I saw in here mentions that he is about the money. You have no idea how much benevolent free care his clinic gives to people who cant afford to come.
He is a great doctor however, his real gift is communication, that is why his radio show and books have done so well. My thoughts? I am proud of him. I am much his senior and have seen him grow as a physician throughout the years. He is creating a new path for all of us as physicians to give great information and hope to our patients. That is why he pursued degrees in traditional and alternative medicine, in order to give insight to help people in all health related areas.
I assure you he is not deceptive in any way. He is actually full of integrity. In all my years of practice, I just don't see how he does his radio show, writes his books, runs his practice, pursues more education, and still sees patients. What I do know is that he cares deeply for people and that is why God is blessing him. Has he done everything right? Probably not. He is human like all of us and has bad days and challenging times.I sure know I haven't done it all right in past years.Yet we all continue to learn from those times. What I do know is that his heart is right. If you are frustrated with something in his practice or him personally, then I encourage you to call and speak to him. He is very kind and will gladly chat with you.
Thank you for reading and may God richly bless you.
I'm always amazed when someone who claims to be a Christian spews forth such false judgements as on one hand calling someone vile and full of hatred, and on the other saying may God bless you. Also, basing everything on her false assumption that I HAVEN'T been to Asa's office and that my facts are all hearsay, which they are not. I am still dumbfounded also by the complete sidestepping of the FACTUAL issue that Asa treats people over phone on the radio without an office visit and testing ahead of time. It is absolutely preposterous that anyone would tollerate this especially from someone with two doctorites NO MATTER HOW NICE A MAN HE IS! He is out of his mind to do this and if you endorse this than YOU ARE TOO! And, if you read your Bible, Jesus or Paul did NOT call out false teachers in private, they were called out in public as people that gave him a hard time, and is recorded publically in GOD's WORD for ALL to see and be aware of, FOREVER. I also notice that no one has still brought up the lie that he and his his staff perpetuate about the footbath they claim detoxes, AND IT DOESN'T. (But he still charges for it) When I visited his office I was introduced to the female attendant as being a nurse. That is why I made reference to her as such. (But I guess since you assume I haven't been there that gives you a right to slam me for it) One more thing, what a ridiculous ignorant statement to say, "It's not about his talk, it's about results." I can't even begin to address what an assinine statement that is. You're right, there is no place for objective conversation here with that kind of "reasoning." The Bible does say in Proverbs that to argue with a fool is futile and makes you a fool also. No question there. Asa may be a fine man who loves people and has many fine accomplishments, but he's going to cause hurt or worse to someone someday by treating them without examinination and testing over the radio. I also wonder why he STILL doesn't reveal to the public what his doctorites are in? I don't think it is an oversight.
I'm sorry Dr. Turner. It wasn't the validity of your visit I was questioning at all...it was your exhibited knowledge base. Also,I didn't say (or even think) that you are vile. I said your apparent hatred for this man is vile.
I will add one more thing. Anyone can find out what his qualifications are by calling his office - that's how I found out.
Again, I would encourage you to call Dr. Asa's office and make arrangements to share your concerns with him directly. I'm sure he'll be very glad to set aside some time to chat with you.
Blessings!
Once again your assumptions and character judgements are ridiculous and completely wrong. But since you love jumping to conclusions about someone who is addicted to telling the truth and demanding it from other doctors, anything I say is obviously pointless to you if it is contrary to your emotions. I do however resent the fact that again you redefine my desire for TRUTH as being "an apparent, vile hatred" for any another human being. The fact that you called his office for his credentials is irrelevant. He doesn't declare them publically which is required by law. And, once again, you infer that I haven't spoken to him.
I don't need to defend myself to you, especially when this is not about MY integrity or the way that I conduct myself PUBLICALLY like Asa Andrew does. If these observations I have made of his practices are completely acceptable to you, then you obviously are comfortable with someone either being dishonest and/or breaking the law. This shows a real lack of character on your part that I really have no desire to engage any further.
As far as blessings, that's not up to us, according to God. That's just another false doctrine misnomer that someone has taught you and you believed it without researching it.
Search YouTube for "ionic footbath detox hoax." Do it now; I'll wait. *pause* You should have found several videos of a gentleman extracting yeast, bladder infections, and other "toxins" from a raw carrot. He got similar results from a piece of celery.
The fact that Asa Andrew takes people's hard-earned money for this parlor trick is enough to convince me he is not genuine.
And to "Stan MD" (lol), I've read Empowering Your Health cover to cover. It's a horribly written pile of unsupported assertions, shameless hyperbole, and blatant contradictions. I wouldn't count communication among his "real" gifts.
"Dr." Asa is breaking the law on his radio show simply by calling himself a doctor and a physician. According to the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards (www.fclb.org) many States in the US require that the word "doctor" and "physician" never be used without specifying the "chiropractic" part of the title.
Alabama: - Additional legally accepted terms for chiropractor (in addition to Doctor of Chiropractic, D.C., Chiropractor, Chiropractic Doctor): Chiropractic Physician, by rule.
Kentucky: - Additional legally accepted terms for chiropractor (in addition to Doctor of Chiropractic, D.C., Chiropractor, Chiropractic Doctor): Terms listed above (Dr. cannot be used without identifying type of degree)
Tennessee: - Additionally legally accepted terms for chiropractor (In addition to Doctor of Chiropractic, D.C., Chiropractor, Chiropractic Doctor): Chiropractic Physician
In his books and online, "Dr." Asa never makes ANY reference to chiropractic certification. His book states that he studied "medicine" and he refers nebulously to his "doctorate" and "doctoral work" without ever specifying the field of study. He offers advice on many MEDICAL maladies. He is not a Medical Doctor, and most states PROHIBIT BY LAW a person calling themself a doctor while offering medical advice unless they are trained as either allopathic or osteopathic physicians, and holding a license to practice MEDICINE in that state. This guy is an obvious fraud.
Fascinating thread and so glad to see it comes up when you Google this guys name.
Whatever you want to debate about this guy - his book is misleading about his status as a doctor. That's no accident and we all know why he didn't mention he was a chiropractor. Because it's not good business. Chiropractors are right in there with evangelical motivational speakers these days on the American BS meter.
At least he confesses to being on the Power Team.
I think we'd all be OK if the guy said somewhere in the first few minutes of his book or radio show "Hey, I'm a chiropractor." But the way he presents himself raises all sorts of red flags.
Sucks, because the guy presents some good information that might help some people. Not really any different than what Jordan Rubin. Ted Broer, Kevin Trudeau, Drs. Mercola or Cherry or Colbert provide - but there's some good solid stuff in all their material - if you can just get past the crap.
What we need is some sort of magic ionic hot tub/baptismal pool that we could soak hucksters in that would remove all the negative bullcrap and flush out the toxins.
My advice? When you hear any sort of self-help guru ask this question first: What are you selling?
Hint: Be wary of anyone who sells their own line of supplements.
On May 3rd 2008 my husband helped me into the bookstore (I was so weak that I had to have assistance) we purchased Dr. Asa's book. On May 5th I started the diet, that night I went to bed for the first time in years without antacids. I knew something was working and called his office. At that time the new booking receptionist and online supplements was done out of an office in Chatanooga. She gave me an appointment for July 28th, told me to stay on the diet, and purchase online or at the office the foundational 4 supplements. On May the 8th we were going out of town, and as the caregiver for my Mom who has Dementia I had agreed for her go to the Hospice unit for the weekend. They were coming to pick her up, and not wanting to be here when they came to get her, as she would be begging me not to leave her, my son and I were going to the office to pick up the supplements. When I was about 10 minutes away my cell phone rang and it was the receptionst in Chat. and she was amazed that I was on my way out there, because he had just had an opening for a new patient. I knew that it was a God thing and a short time later when I arrived, Dr Asa and the entire office agreed that it was a miracle! The person that struggled to walk into the office last May and the person who is typing this, isn't the same person. I am currently walking away from diseases such as diabetes, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, acid reflux, restless leg, anemia, auto immune disorder, and the list goes on. If you watch commercials you will hear lawyers offering to help people with these diseases get their disability, but I will not be getting money from the government for these diseases because I am no longer disabled! My blood work has improved greatly!! I am able to walk 2 1/2 miles a day, clean my house, take care of my Mom, go grocery shopping, sleep through the night without constant pain, etc. My fibromyalgia pain use to be a 10 and now it is about a 1, and I deal with that without drugs. Had I gone to a regular Pharma supporting dr he would have empty his little Rx book on me with drugs that would have caused a mountain of side effects on my body, and only covered up my diseases, not healed them. As far as the detox being a hoax, the first time I went my water was a disaster, as my body was! One of the main colors in my water was green which is gallbladder. My gallbladder was greatly diseased and was close to being removed. And now I have no problems with it what so ever. My digestive system isn't an issue at all! Even when I ate all sorts of things that I shouldn't have during the holidays. I am sure that if you ask my husband and son if they think Dr Asa is a joke they will be quick to tell you that he has given them back their wife and mom.
Also when I chat with patients in the office they are quick to talk about all of the diseases that they are walking away from as well. As far as the cost, it is covered by insurance, except for the detox and supplements, these are options and if you choose to do so you can purchase the supplements elsewhere. In closing I would like to say that I prayed for God to heal me, and I believe that He has through Dr Asa and Natural Medicine. And as I am bopping around the park with my Golden Retriever and Ipod shuffle I am praising the Lord for what He has done!
Jennifer L., I am very happy for your recovery and don't diminish the results in any way. However, I think you also have missed the point. It is NOT that Asa isn't skilled at what he does, but there ARE laws of disclosure that he is not abiding by.(as you can read about in other threads) Also, as you said, you went to his office and went through testing and retesting, that is exactly the way ttreatment should be accomplished, NOT by listening for 30 seconds to someone on the phone calling in to his radio show and continually prescribing "one size cures all" treatments. THAT is irresponsible and dangerous, and the main point of what I have been saying. And the fact of the matter is he is sidestepping the disclosure laws because he knows that Chiropractics are still not well accepted to a lot of people, and he would lose a lot of customers and credibility if he openly admitted to being a Chiropractor. There is NO excuse for him to break the law as he is doing. What does the Bible say? If you can't trust someone in the small things, you can't trust them in the big things.
I would challenge Jennifer L to take her feet out of the water and watch it still change color. Or just watch closely--the particles are coming out of the probe, not your feet.
To the 'sane' folks out there..dont listen to these naysayers!...first of all, do you wish to continue going to doctors to simply be medicaded with some drug that's doing God only knows what to your liver? Please..use reason. For far too long we have been 'taught' that we can take a pill and get fixed. Look at how you live your daily life, what you put in your body. We live in a world of packaged 'dead' food. I really think the reason there are so many naysayers is that they really dont want to take responsibility for their actions. Going to Dr. Asa means you have to make changes. Most people dont want to give up bad habits. And about the expense...? Hello!!! How much is your health and sanity worth to you? And it's not that much anyway and they do take insurance. Dr. Asa looks at the whole body. They are not symptom chasers passing out pharma like it was candy. No. Their practice is about getting to the root of the problem. If you dont want that, then dont go.
Natural,
I totally agree with you about people putting junk into their bodies, however, making changes does NOT mean you have to go to Dr Asa.
By all means, make changes, live healthy, eat right and stop expecting your body to run like a well-oiled machine when you're feeding it junk. But don't use this as an excuse to go to someone who pretends to have more credibility than he does, and uses practices that are no more than documented hoaxes.
I know you want to take care of your body, and that's admirable... but don't forget to take care of your brain and your wallet at the same time.
So, if he is breaking the law, why isn't law enforcement concerned? It's not like he's broadcasting or practicing from some deep, dark, secret cave somewhere.
I have been (and will continue to be) a patient of his for a long time. I have also developed some personal friendships with some who work in his office. As I have seen, and they have confirmed, there is no intent to deceive or defraud at the Center for Natural Medicine.
It's my assertion that, with the exception of the person who started this blog, the motivation for most of these complaints is jealously...pure and simple.
I stumbled across this blog and I just had to comment. I never had the impression he was not a chiropractor or nutritionist. I read his book after listening to the show and I see good sound nutrional advice. I followed the anti-inflammatory diet and improved my health. No surprise that we are so unhealthy by eating garbage and medicating our symptoms with drugs. Our body was not designed to ingest these things. Its common sense. I have not gone to DR Asa's office nor do I plan to. I have simply become more aware of what I eat and how it affects me. Dr Asa brought that to my attention, not any other DR. or family Pract. I dont see the point of religous references, or the arguement as to who is "the better christian". There are valid point made by both sides, but I am not swayed by passionate religous quotations. In my opinion, Dr. turner seems kind of angry and a little mean spirited, but thats just the impression I get from his posts. If you are a Dr. of some sort, does that discount the good sound nutrional advice he gives over the radio that could benefit anyone eating poorly. No. Is the foot bath a scam? I dont know but if someone wants it then get it. Does a massage help you medically? Maybe but I know it feels good to get one. Whats the harm? I could consider making statements that a foot bath is a cure all misleading, but I feel better after a detoxing shower at home. Lets use some common sense about our diets and eat better. Lets talk about something that matters more than misleading titles and foot baths. Lets address the real issues about what we eat and how it affects us. If you dont feel comfortable with Dr. Asa, go elsewhere and get healthy.
Someone in my office mentioned a family member going to ses "Dr." Asa and asked if I had ever heard of him. I did a little investigating and found this blog. What you people may want to know is this guy is basically a salesman. He is a Chiropractor and not a Medical Doctor. The American Medical Association refers to Chiropractic as "an unscientific cult". To think that this guys is interpreting blood tests is more than a little scary. He can not prescribe any type of medication if they are needed. Why would anyone go to a Chiropractor for internal medicine issues is beyond reason. Your MD is trained in nutrition and can give you the same advice. What really gets me is how refers to himself as a "Board Certified Physician". He is a Board Certified Chiropractor! No one cares! But the funniest part of this obvious shiester is him calling himself "America's Health Coach". Yeah, right. And I'm "America's Financial Advisor". I'm suprised this guy is not an evangelist somewhere. He is another example of the cult of personality. Chiropractors are quacks and 90% of the population knows it. My advice, for what its worth, save yourselves a bunch of money and investigate health issues before you dump a bunch of money into something like a Chiropractor. Best wishes to all.
Thanks, Prog. I think you said it very well.
WOW. That's all I can say about the center for natural medicine. My 14 year old daughter has been to many medical dr's in the first few years of her life. None of which truly tested her for anything other than diabetes. The rough bumpy acne filled skin she had I was told "she'll grow out of it." Or prescribed 7 different creams costing over $200 each month to slather on 2 x's a day (45 minutes each time). NOTHING. The fact that she gained 1/2 to 3 pounds EVERY month of her entire life was never addressed either. If anyone in our family was sick enough to visit a medical dr we never had a blood test or any other test unless strep was suspected. A medical dr charges you for a visit and makes an educated guess then treats you for that. If that doesn't work another guess is made.
Yes DR Asa gives advice on the radio and talk shows without seeing someone. Yes most of it is the same advice. Because those few things he suggests make a world of difference in your health. There is a common denominator-poor health choices. If you see results by doing what he suggests you will then seek the medical help he ALSO suggests.
I had the opportunity to meet Dr Asa for the first time at the beginning of the year. It was at the open house of his new office building. I had hormone test results in my hand from another dr. He said the problem did not lie in that result. There is a reason her hormones were acting crazy and without knowing the reason we cannot solve the problem. Many times I have prayed for the answer to my daughter's symptoms. I believe we found the answer at the center.
Her blood test results revealed many poor health issues. A couple of them were truly life threatening. Now, 6 months later and another blood test reveals that doing what he suggests can totally change your life. No more acne (corn allergy) soft skin, and most of all she has lost over 35 pounds. She did not gain weight but LOST weight. At 14 she is able to do it. Why, because of the care given at the center. I have been encouraged many times to seek a medical dr to work along side the centers instructions. I choose not to because I have no faith in the medical drs when it comes to this situation. There are times when you must see one but teaching us good health choices has not been one of them for me.
In the past month or so, a medical dr has been added to the staff at the center. I have not had an appointment with him but he is there and working with many patients.
As far as expense. My husband and I own and operate our own business. One that struggles the first 3 months of each year. This is the same time God was answering our prayers for our daughter's health. The center did not blink and our financial struggle at all. In fact they immediately went to work on a payment plan. One that discounts office visits, testing and supplements.
My whole family eats the foods and exercises the way that has been suggested for my daughter. I have seen tremendous results in my digestive system. My husband no longer gets headaches. My son feels better inside. We only take the 4 supplements he suggests and the food and exercise. Those are changes he suggests on the radio. We feel great. I know our health has changed. I do not believe he is doing anything wrong for people. He is coaching them back to good health.
Kelly,
I don't think anyone here would disagree with you that eating right and exercising make a person healthier. But that's not where the debate lies. You obviously have no problem seeing someone who doesn't have a MD, or the ability to prescribe medications if needed. That's fine, but some of us do... especially when we've been led to believe otherwise.
Interestingly enough, it was over a year ago that I was told, by a member of his staff, that he was in the final semester of Med. School. Since you mention that they added an MD to their staff, I'm guessing that he's still not completed this "semester"?
Asa's food plan is great, but like many other people, I just don't like being intentionally misled.
Like any profession there are your honest people and all the others. Try to find an honest mechanic...? Bottom line this person attained his Chiropractic license in 1999 and does not have "years of clinical experience". Must have begun Chiropractic school in 1995, not medical school.
All I'd like to know is where did he get his medical degree or is ND degree or his nutrition degree or his "masters in kinesiology". According to the ICAK(International College of Applied Kinesiology) he has no diplomate or masters in this field.
Also, he did not come up with the idea that the structure, chemical and emotional states govern our health. Look up George Goodheart and find out about the Triad of health and Applied Kinesiology.
Bottom line is this Mr.Dr.Master etc...etc... Andrews should be up front with people as to his education. Also, he should credit the people's books he's read and re-gurgitated to the public. His information is ANYTHING OTHER THAN ORIGINAL.
HE IS A VERY GOOD MARKETING and sales person and does convey useful information. As far as the supplements he recommends and supposedly designs himself...Oh ya, he has a doctorate in Chemistry also..he, he... Are his products GMP(look it up people) certified...doubt it...Do certain supplement companies put products together for doc's so they can slap their label on it and call it their own..ahh..YES.
I simply adore people who pull the "god" card and really feel sorry for the "believers" who don't pay attention to the facts(Blinded by their faith). Wake up and smell the coffee people! Oh yea, just because CBN or whatever organization says he's a doctor, you better just believe it...or else..
By the way, I am very jealous that I cannot be him. Oh, the money I could make if I was oh so, so slick and I'd really love trying to sleep at night...NOT
Everything comes full circle..!
PS: the comment about governing boards and prosecution..how about some of these others; Trudeau etc..health cures, then financial cures, at least he didn't act like he came up with his own information...you really think anyone really can police this stuff?
Prognosticator,
I am not a patient of Dr. Andrew and do not wish to defend him personally in my statement here. However, I would like to defend the field of chiropractic treatment. I have been to chiropractors for treatment over the last few years, and know from first-hand experience the benefits. I have been relieved of pain and numbness WITHOUT drugs! I prefer not to fill my body with chemicals that will only cover up the symptoms, rather than heal them. My husband and brother-in-law have also had wonderful results from chiropractic treatments. My brother-in-law has suffered from horrible migraines his entire life, been on countless pain-killers, and finally found relief after treatment from a very knowledgable and skilled chiropractor. My husband would like for the MD's who claim chiropractic medicine is a joke to explain why he feels 100% better after a treatment - without drugs! Granted, there are some chiropractors who are better than others, just as there are some MD's who are better than others. That does not negate the whole profession. What if I just gave up on MDs after the first "quack" goofed up my meds or mis-diagnosed an illness? Does that make them ALL quacks? The smart consumer should realize that there are times to see a regular MD and times to see a chiropractor. I agree with your statement that folks should investigate their own health issues. That goes for MD's as well as chiropractors. Use your common sense before you agree to any x-rays, tests, medications, etc. Be smart with your money and ask the right questions! Get and keep copies of your health records, test results and x-rays.
So...Have you ever been to a chiropractor? How about presenting your credentials? Are you an MD? You said you work in an office, but what type of office? What gives you the authority to make the comment that "chiropractors are quacks and 90% of the population knows it". Did you do a survey of some sort, or are you just blowing smoke and throwing out cliches you've heard your whole life?
Please answer. I'm very curious as to your basis for your comments.
I'm still investigating Dr. Andrew myself, but I don't think I will be able to give your comments any weight in the matter (unless of course you produce some credentials and proof). If you do not have facts to support those comments about chiropractors, that leads me also to believe that you do not have true facts to support your comments about Dr. Andrew. I tend to think you may be "jumping on the bandwagon" so to speak without any proof or REAL investigation other than a few "googles" on the internet.
I anxiously await your reply...
Whatever else Asa's rah-rah section want to claim the bottom line is the same: This guy is evasive about the fact that he is a Chiropractor. This information is nowhere in his book.
Walking around in scrubs with a stethoscope around your neck when you are a chiropractor? That's just slick marketing, probably from the school of Franklin, TN., the same guys who have American Christianity so screwed up and dubious.
Either way - sure he has some helpful material but the same stuff you've read plenty other places and better.
Julian Michaels new Metabolism book is much better as are tomes from Don Colbert and Ted Broer.
In the end things like this just causes more damage and more doubt.
balance and moderation people. Does it take a doctorate to figure that out? Gosh- I wish the public didn't lap up every medical/diet fad that comes down the pike.

I like the idea of a magic ionic hot tub/baptismal!
First of all, I am not mad at Dr. Asa. I just want the truth. And, I want a doctor I feel like I can trust. And, it would be really great if things have changed. And, God bless him if it has. I was so impressed with Dr. Asa's sincerity the first time I saw him on TBN. I just knew he was my answer to health. I was glad to hear Dr. Asa is now working with a medical doctor. On the other side of the spectrum, I believe that conventional medicine lacks many benefits that natural medicine and holistic nutrition offer.
Second of all, eating right and living a healthy lifestyle WILL lead to better health and reverse disease if you follow a sound and proven plan. I whole-heartedly believe in a natural approach to health. I also believe there's a time to seek conventional treatment when necessary. It's all the weird stuff and deceptive practices that really turn me off.
I went to Dr. Asa because he was local and he was a Christian. But, my experience at the time, was not what I thought it should be. Some of the procedures and manipulations were NOT worth a hoot.
Give me the stuff that works. Have integrity and be honest with your patients, doctors. Don't try and railroad them or nickel and dime them to death. People can't afford it. And, it breaks my heart when these poor souls spend their last dime in hope of recovery and survival. How much debt have they gone into? How many miles have they traveled for a glimmer of hope? Healthcare does not have to cost that much. Get rid of the junk, practitioners, have integrity...and follow honest, Godly business methods, please.
Third, most insurances only cover a small portion of the chiropractic services. The recommended course of treatment at Dr. Asa's office is at least 9 weeks (2-3 visits a week)...and you pay each time you go. This is thousands of dollars then you pay for the supplements...thousands of more dollars. I could not afford that. And, if people are diligent, they can find the knowledge and affordable means they need to improve their health. Sometimes we do need someone who knows their stuff to teach us and guide us but let that person be honest in their dealings. Dr. Asa might have a package deal by now but I hope the terms are spelled out and the price is fair.
I was not given only 4 supplements at the time of my treatment. I had a laundry list(I'd say 12-15) to purchase and take. I spent $550.00 at Dr. Asa's office on my first round of supplements which were to last a month...AND I still didn't get everything on the list. I researched the supplements online and dug deep for reputable companies that sell top quality products and found all of the items at a fraction of the cost. Did they help? Yes, I started feeling better. I also believe in detoxing but I don't believe for an instant that big chunks of metal seep from the bottoms of my feet. I would say a good 10 minutes in a sauna, a good full body massage or even rebounding would loosen toxins which would circulate to the appropriate elimination routes. I also believe we have energy fields around our bodies as every proton in our systems are little dipoles in constant motion, like little magnets. When Jesus healed, power/healing energy went out of Him. I am still researching this...to sift through the hocus pocus but I'd say there is something to it.
As far as my experience at Dr. Asa's, I'm just saying I did not feel like I was getting what was advertised. I really believed in the friend and coach aspect of it. I was disappointed. You have to discern what the truth is and sift out the hype. Do some research and dig for knowledge. Some people are naive and so desperate they will cling to anything that will give them hope. I can totally understand that. I was the same and put all my faith in this program. I also know, in my gut, what I should be doing on my own to improve my health. No one else is going to do it for me. No magic pill, no fad, no doctor and no quick fix is going to be the answer to health...bottom line.

What a joke. I'd like to verify that he really completed his degree in FL...
There is no degree in CHIROPRACTIC MEDICINE! It's called a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
GET real people and don't be big red lollipop..
I'm counting my blessings for the day I was referred to Dr. Asa Andrew! Having been a patient for nearly 2 years, I've seen tremendous changes in my health, as well as, seen many changes at the Center for Natural Medicine through the numerous people all across the nation that Dr. Asa is helping. I am a middle-aged female who had been to 3 different medical doctors in 3 different states with health challenges that had left me with anxiety and frustration-no diagnosis.
When you get to the end of your rope, and you do want to get well-which I certainly did, you are willing to do anything to get there. After I read Dr. Asa's book, Empowering Your Health--I was sold! It made TOO much sense. It made so much sense, that had my 12 year old neighbor or my fellow auto mechanic given me the information, I still would have been sold bc of how much common sense it made. After meeting him and observing his knowledge, care and concern, the credentials did not even matter anymore.
From then on, I began the protocol for the Anti-Inflammatory Diet and proceeded with the extensive blood test screening he calls for. I told him up front that finances would be an issue and asked for alternatives--he ended up seeing me and doing testing for practically nothing. The Center for Natural Medicine is so great-they really work with you on the financial piece if it's an issue-for that I am truly grateful.
It took me about 3 weeks into the diet before I began to see a noticeable difference in my health. At this point it had been two weeks since I had had a migraine headache, where previously they came 1-2 times per week and I'd lost my craving for soda and pasta. Shortly thereafter, the results of my bloodwork were reviewed and the culprit of several of my health challenges were identified. With a few tweaks in my diet along with supplementation for deficiencies, other symptoms began to diminish, including hand tremors and heart palpitation's.
I could go on and on, as things such as, hormone issues were addressed over the last year and I'm just so happy I feel like a new woman again!!! You know when you get such positive results like this you just want to share it with the world.
Integrative Medicine, the way Dr. Asa is approaching health, is our future. He has pulled together the best of the best to give hope to people through a multi-specialty approach to getting well. If he had bashed traditional medicine, even as frustrated as I had been with the discipline, that would have been a red flag--instead, he suggests they work together. The proof was in the pudding after meeting his Medical Director who is 35 years in practice and Board Certified-he is Dr. Asa's Primary Care Physician on Staff and has an incredible bed-side manner.
I've now had a couple of dear friends fly in across country to see Dr. Asa and his team for a 3-day comprehensive evaluation. It's neat to see and hear about their success in the months that followed. We are listening to Dr. Asa ON CALL his daily radio show as much as we can-my husband and I are wondering how he does all that he does and still be one of the kindest people we have ever met. 3 hours of radio a night after seeing patients all day?? We have great respect for Dr. Asa and his staff-they really are changing how people view their health.
thank goodness we're getting back to good ole' common sense and thank goodness The Center for Natural Medicine is paving the way!!
Here's to good health! It feels good to feel good!
Just curious, jujubee177, how much $$$ did you spend approximately, in two years? I know it takes a certain amount of money to run a business but I tell you, I spent a LOT of money in just 3 or 4 visits, not including the bloodwork.
I am glad, though, that the office has improved.
Debbie, who initially asked about Asa, seems to be pleased with him. He spent time with her, she said on her blog, and listened...etc. BUT, he did not spend much time with me...MAYBE 5 minutes each visit after the initial consult. And, yes he is busy with the radio station and education. Does that take away from the practice and attention to patients? Like I said, maybe it has gotten better. I sure hope so.
I am just relaying my experience from a year and a half ago and I am glad we have a variety of comments here.
I would not recommend Dr. Asa Andrew to anyone. If you are a patient and have wondered why there is such a high turnover in his employees it's because of the way they are treated. He talks out of both sides of his mouth. Employees are told that they cannot be friends with the patients and never to discuss anything personal with them but yet he goes and marries a patient! He has to advertise because patients all too soon figure out he is a quack and he has to draw in new victims.
Well....I have to say that Dr. Asa has some great information for people & he has learned that people can not & will not change on their own. They need reassurance from someone else that what they are doing is right. Watch the Biggest Loser.....everyday people that knew they needed to lose weight but just didn't, couldn't, or wouldn't do it on their own. When you have someone there to tell you how to do things & when, people get a sense of that "fuzzy feeling". People can be lazy. He's just trying to make a livin' just like the rest of us......only he's figured out a way to make alil more with his ideas. The guy who put the plastic thingy's at the end our shoe strings made millions!!! For what? Shoe stringy thingys!!! All I'm saying is.....don't hate the man b/c you didn't come up with the ideas he has........
Dang...maybe I should start telling people I'm a Dr......I work in a Dr.'s office....thats close enough isn't?
I am always suspicious of claims of cures through nutrition and lifestyle changes. Of course this can happen in some cases, but usually chronic health problems (which are ones in which nutritional and lifestyle changes would be the most effective) require more conventional treatment. This is not to say that Dr. Asa has not offered decent advice to many folks on his show, however. But I think that most of the advice can be condensed into common sense - don't smoke, eat right and avoid excessive alcohol consumption. I suppose what really bothers me about Dr. Asa's advice is that he ALWAYS recommends his "anti-inflammatory diet" for everything. Wheat, grain gluten free and now cows milk products. Hmmmm. How did we evolve over the millions of years eating this stuff? Why are we not all dead or sick? Not all of us have Celiac disease - which is what he is diagnosing here. In fact a very small percentage of the population have gluten sensitivity. So be careful of the advice offered and see your own doctor and maybe get a second opinion. In medicine many things are based on professional judgement....that's why they call it the PRACTICE of medicine. Oh, if you want supplements, try Sam's, Costco, Walgreens, or CVS. You will go broke buying the stuff from Dr Asa. Maybe that's the idea? Divert income to high priced supplements so you can't buy food. Kind of a forced diet....
I really wish I would have seen this blog prior to my boyfriend seeing Dr. Asa. He is actually there right now getting his blood work as he paid a pretty penny for it, but is discontinuing his care there after only 3 visits.
We are both big proponents of natural care and correcting the problem instead of medicating the symptom. I visit a Chiropractor regularly for manual manipulations--not the activator recommended by Dr. Asa's clinic that's used for infants and those with acute back pain-- but also use massage and detoxes regularly to remain healthy. I don't subscribe to the 'sick care' American health system, but believe in preventative medicine and simply taking care of your body. You can read the book 'Skinny Bitch' and get similar if not better nutritional advice than Dr. Asa's book.
I wanted to preface with all this because I think homeopathic, natural, acupuncture and even ayurvedic treatments are best for me and my health. That's why I'm so disappointed in Dr. Asa's clinic as it turns people away from the very thing he preaches(both christianity in my opinion and natural care).
My boyfriend has visited his office after visits to Orthopedic Surgeons, Chiropractors, and GPs were fruitless in helping a reoccurring nervous system problem. After our first visit, we saw a DO and it wasn't so bad but not once did we see Dr. Asa; however, they seemed pretty rehearsed in prescribing the same 3 step program for everyone regardless of your condition. They were reluctant to talk pricing and encouraged you to sit with whoever does their billing.
Not a couple days, but IMMEDIATELY after his second visit which included going over his x-rays, a woman called and said my boyfriend needs to come in ASAP to get some type of $2000 treatment the next day to cure his leg pain. He didn't even have leg pain and why on earth could he take off of work for a 2 hour $2000 procedure anyways without any notice? After telling her the Dr. mentioned nothing of this, she said, "Oh, you have lower back pain then right?"(as a psychic or an attorney does to get the answers they want)
After saying yes, then she said, "Well you still need to come in tomorrow to do this." He told her to have the Dr call him if this is indeed what he needs and she said ok. Never heard from anyone.
We received 3 phone calls between that appointment and the one today, all after 7 PM which in my opinion is absurd. The worst part of this is that they didn't even listen or write down that he requested to only be called between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm. My dentist, who I see once every 6 months, can write a note and remember what triathlon I said I was doing 6 months prior to ask how it went, and they can't even remember what was discussed a couple hours earlier.
Not to mention, my boyfriend just said that a woman in there was charged an additional $200 for her blood work because they said the price went up. Thanks for the notification! If the waiting room patients at Dr. Asa's clinic are even discussing the problems that they share, that should be a good indication that something is wrong.
Also, to comment on some of these issues that people have mentioned Dr. Asa cured, i.e. restless leg syndrome or type 2 diabetes, these folks probably have been eating terribly prior to reading anything about nutritional information or don't exercise at least 60 minutes per day. The second that you start eating correctly and adding in exercise, you're going to feel better. It's that simple.
I've never listened to Dr.Asa's show or met the man, but the practices his office employees are that of a great sales team complete with follow up calls, smooth talking, and a line of products that amazingly will cure anything that anyone comes in there with. I wouldn't be surprised if they are implementing cold calls into their operation to find new patients.
I am scheduled to be seen at The Center For Natural Medicine aka Dr. Asa Andrew in 3 days. I googled "The Center for Natural Medicine" due to the fact that the e mail that they Finally sent me which was to include all the information I needed DIDN'T EVEN INCLUDE THE ADDRESS OF THE CLINIC! Thanks be to God I found This Blog Site! I was told weeks ago that I would be sent an e mail with ALL the information I needed. NO E MAIL RECEIVED. I had to call 3 times to finally get the e mail & I stayed on the phone with the person that was supposed to send it to me until I received it in my in box. SO, just now I re-read the e mail - not only does it NOT INCLUDE the address of the Center for Natural Medicine, it is FULL of typos. No professional would sign a letter without proof reading it & this is the template letter they use for every new patient - they just change the information for each new patient. I too was so impressed with his knowledge and positive, Christian attitude on the radio. Until I found this Site moments ago, I thought Dr. Asa was the answer to my prayers. I'm on a fixed income & had no idea of all the extra costs that others have mentioned would be coming down the pike. I had NO IDEA that he was not a physician. I believe he probably has helped some people, but after reading each comment on this blog, I'm canceling my appointment. If any one knows of a Clinic/Medical provider with a Great Reputation in Kentucky, Ohio or TN please post on this blog. I have several health problems & need to see someone who comes highly recommended! Thanks so much!
God does work in mysterious ways!
He is a "physician," but he's not a medical doctor. He just plays one on the radio. ;)
I wasn't going to make anymore comments, but after seeing the several really ignorant statements by "M" I couldn't help myself.
First of all, most of the comments posted here ARE from peoples personal dealings with Andrew, not from heresay, and the way they have actually been treated as patients. To put them in the same catagory as those who stoned Jesus is utterly ridiculous and exposes YOU as totally ignorant. First of all "M," before you try to use scripture to support your drek you should actually READ IT! Jesus was NEVER stoned! What Bible are you referencing? How about the REAL verse that does state "to expose evil" like Paul did about Hymenaeus and Philetus who were false teachers and it is now recorded for all eternity. How about the verse where Jesus said, "To give unto Caesar what is Caesar's," and also "to obey the law of the land." Pointing out that Andrew operates under a veil of deception and disobeying the law by not revealing what he is, not obeying the law or abiding by the AMA rules, laws, and guidelines.
The fact that he overcharges huge percentage amounts for his services and suppliments that anyone can get off the web and put their name on, and gets away with it because he hides behind his rhetoric and false interpretations of the Bible to give people a false sense of security about him is vulger. It is also using the Word for his own profit which is clearly spoken against in the Bible.
The fact that he instructs his staff to tell patients that the ionic footbath will do detox is a LIE to steal they money.
The fact that he baits and switches from one price quote and then raises it the next day because people are so willing to do ANYTHING to be healed is horrible! This man has no conscience about stealing from widows and orphans (the Bible says alot about that too) because he is a smooth talker and a THIEF quite obviously out for his own interest and financial gain.
There is no reason in the world other than that for this worm to be overcharging people the huge amounts he does if his heart was truly out to help them. Yeah, he's out to help them alright, as long as he can get filthy stinking rich in the process.
I hope I wasn't too vague.
There is obviously some anger here but I believe Dr. Asa is a good man and that is all that I have experienced, along with my friends as well. I will continue to seek his professional advice concerning my health as well as the other qualified physicians at the Center for Natural Medicine.
I am writing to clarify some things from the previous blogs. I have personally seen Dr. Asa as a patient for several years now. He is an amazing physician and is the exact same guy on radio and TV as he is in person. Warm, caring, brilliant, and gives so much to so many people. Getting hung up on some typos that an employee may have sent out in an email is ridiculous. Out of his 30 plus staff, this might happen every now and then. And to settle his education...he has 2 doctorates, has completed medical school, is board-certified in nutrition, and is currently sitting for his medical boards (MD) this month. And for the clinical setting, it is not just himself. He has multiple physicians and health specialists, also has a senior Medical Director on staff over all of his clinics who has been board-certified for 35 years. His clinical team are my primary care physicians. This is where I put the trust of my health. I can vouch for Dr. Asa, his clinical system, and his staff. Why? Because I am a physician myself in one of Nashville's largest Hospitals and have been for over 14 years, and know when someone is the real deal or not. He is one of the best I've seen at combining traditional and alternative medicine. On the financial piece of this, I can vouch for the way he has worked with several of my friends that have paid minimally for Dr. Asa's services and received superior care. I encourage people to have their OWN experience instead of reading a blog, hearing a couple negative comments-most likely from ONE group of negative friends. What all of this makes me think and the question I might challenge you with is this.... Meet the guy and form your own experience. As several people on this blog have stated "ive never even met the guy, but..." I challenge anyone on this blog to be cautious with words, you could be deterring someone who truly needs the hope and help that the Center for Natural Medicine can bring. Let people make their own decisions and ask their own questions to Dr. Asa and all of the other Dr's on staff there. They are truly good people doing good things in people's lives--and this is spoken from REAL experience. God Bless
M, you're darn right I'm angry. You infer that anger is something bad. I guess the fact that Jesus was very angry when he drove out the moneychangers from the temple made him a bad man in your mind. Or, how about the verse where we are commanded to "Be angry, but do not sin" speaking of being angry and speaking out when you see people doing exactly what Andrew has been exposed for here, dishonesty, taking advantage of people, and using God to give him leverage. I guess they left those passages out of your Bible so they could put in the part where Jesus was stoned like you so ineptly stated! There is no doubt that he HAS helped people. The issue is NOT that. It is that he in so many ways has turned to deception playing on peoples hurts and weaknesses to profit, and he has broken the law by not revealing ANYWHERE PUBLICALLY what his doctorites are in. In has only been since he built his new clinic that he has employed the doctoral staff that he now has. But he built his client base on false pretenses until he could afford to be where he is today. The fact that he treats people on a radio show without ever testing them BEFORE he prescribes his "natural" remedies is ludicrous! These are the issues I have with him. One more thing, these people on this blog are total strangers to each other, not "friends" attacking Andrew like some orginization. You're the real conflict of interest here because you can't be honestly objective due to your allegance to someone who's dishonest practices don't seem to bother you. In my book, because of that alone, your credibility is as tainted as Andrew's is.

There will will always be different opinions for every type of doctor and treatment. I do not usually comment on this type of format but, because but I feel that Dr Asa is so on the money and such a caring person and wants to see people get well and he has great advice. Maybe for some this is just not the type of doctor they feel comfortable with, as there are many possible protocols for a medical issue. I believe that Dr Asa uses the classic alternative treatments with deeper info that is extremely helpful on his radio show, such as last night he talked about coffee and caffeine and how we can view it. I think with a lot of the negative comments, those bloggers are not familiar with holistic, natural type treaments or doctors. For me, Dr. Asa makes a lot of sense and expands on knowledge that I have built on for many years. And to all the nayers, detox foot baths are not a scam, otherwise if toxins were not coming from the foot, why would each person at different times release totally different colors, substances etc. I think the bloggers who do not like this type of treatment need to go the conventional root and not put down holistic healthcare as it has been practiced for many years with extemely excellent results without harming the body.
Stay Well,
Regards,
debbie
Debbie, why not read through some of the other blogs that have links to the foot detox fraud. There is plenty of documented proof that shows this does NOTHING but clean your feet.
As a Dr., I find the claims that toxins will come out of your internal organs through the soles of your feet to be just another insult to the integrity of those of us that are doing our best to abide by the law, tell the truth, and not maniputate people by their calamities to steal their money like this quack does. FYI...All studies show that even if your feet are NOT in the footbath it still changes colors bue to the chemical reactions from the metals and additives they put in the water with the ionizing probes. Do some research and think with your brain instead of your emotions.
This is as ignorant a claim as the global warming nonsense and accomplishes the exact same thing. It seperates people from their hard earned money.
Regarding the Post by Miss Margie suggesting that Dr. Turner contact Dr. Asa directly as he will be happy to speak to him. I would Love to Speak With Dr. Asa Directly! I have respectfully contacted the Clinic 3 TIMES asking Dr. Asa to call me - He Doesn't Return My Calls. On his radio program he says "Send me an e mail, if you are uncomfortable being on the radio I will call you back personally". I tried that as well, with a respectful request asking him to phone me. No Phone Call from Dr. Asa. If Anyone Does Get In Touch With Him or Sees Him In Person, I'd Very Much Appreciate It If You Would Ask Him To Call Mary Anne In Lexington KY. Dr. Asa has my number from my previous requests to speak with him; if he doesn't have it, Jules does. Thank You In Advance For Interceding On My Behalf So He Will Call Me. Also, when I spoke to him on the radio show, I was told I would receive in writing his recommendations; I've asked for them 3 times as well. Haven't received them. I'd Appreciate Anyone Who Can Get This Information Sent To Me. I spoke to Dr. Asa 1 night about myself, then Kortland called me back the next night so I could speak to Dr. Asa about my son who has a form of Autism, Aspergers & ADHD. Thank you, Mary Anne in Lexington, KY
As mentioned in a previous post,I had an appointment to see Dr. Asa; Please read the e mail from "The Clinic For Natural Medicine" outlining my Itinerary.
I had to call "Mandy" 3 times to even get this e mail-the 3rd call I stayed on the phone with "Mandy" until I received the following e mail to make sure I got it; Please note that it is not on Letterhead,is FULL of typos& DOESN'T EVEN TELL ME THE ADDRESS OF "THE CENTER FOR NATURAL MEDICINE". As I googled "The Center For Natural Medicine" for the address, thanks be to God I found this blog. The E Mail is Posted in my next entry. Mary Anne

Hi Maryanne!
This is Dr. Joe Morgan, Dr. Asa?s Medical Director at The Center for Natural Medicine. It?s really great to hear from you! I wanted to provide you with some initial information while one of Dr. Asa?s health coaches evaluates your specific health question in order to help you with your health challenge.
I know its frustrating dealing with your health issues and not really knowing what to do. However, please know there is HOPE to get your health back! Natural Medicine® is known to be a great answer to many, yet sometimes costly and expensive. However, Dr. Asa and our team have taken some drastic measures to make this kind of Medical Wellness Care very affordable to you in these tough economic times. We do accept most health insurance plans. However, if you don?t have health insurance, then we have very cost effective plans designed just for you. We refuse to let economics get in the way of helping you get your health back.
I want to encourage you to visit us at The Center for Natural Medicine in Nashville, TN sometime soon. I would love for our Director of Patient Services, Jules Christian, to be able to give you a tour of our beautiful state of the art wellness clinic and to have our highly trained wellness staff address your health challenge.
And YES, it?s true that you will receive a COMPLIMENTARY consultation with either myself or one of Dr. Asa?s Certified Doctors (including primary care), who are highly trained in Dr. Asa?s specialized system of Natural Medicine®. Don?t worry about the cost because our initial consultation and x-rays will be provided to you at no charge and with no obligations. Dr. Asa is offering this to you because he truly believes in you as do I.
Once we obtain the results of your initial health evaluation, one of Dr. Asa?s personally trained doctors will review your results in detail. Dr. Asa has made it really easy financially for you to go over these results. Your second office visit will not cost you more than a typical co-pay of $30-$40. We are doing everything we can to help you in these tough economic times.
I would then personally take you through our Medical Wellness Evaluation which may include some simple tests such as an EMG scan to evaluate your nervous system, additional low radiation digital x-rays, EKG for heart health, and metabolic testing to evaluate the current state of your health. Then we can discuss a great course of action to help you attain the vibrant health that you are looking for.
My friend, I look forward to meeting you real soon. Just give us a call at the office at 615.269.6355 to schedule a complimentary consultation. Please remember, whatever you are struggling with great or small, there is Hope to get your health back. That?s what we are her for?always!

I found this blog when I was researching Dr. Asa on the internet. I just started seeing him a couple of weeks ago and am concerned about his methods. I'm all for natural healing, and non-conventional medicine, but I think Dr. Asa is more of a marketing genius than a Dr. I looked up his licensure status at the state website and it shows that the only license he has is chiropractic, although his first degree is for psych. which may be where he got the "marketing" tools he uses to milk his patients. His "antiinflamatory" diet is really just a modified Atkins diet- which comes with all the same health risks as an Atkins diet. I have had life-ling kidney and liver problems and on week two of the antiinflamitory diet am having low back pain and dark, redish urine. I told the woman at the office that I was having problems with the diet and wanted to know how long before I could introduce carbs and she said I would eventually be able to eat carbs but I wasn't there yet, just keep doing the diet level 1. I asked if I could see what the next levels included and she said they used to give patients instructions for all the levels on the first visit but found that they were skipping ahead so now they dole them out as they get to them. I did notice that I have lost a few pounds, something I wanted to do, anyway, but this is not a sign of health, rather a by-product of ketosis, which is what happens when you follow a low carb or no carb diet. Your body goes into carb-starved mode and starts burning fat to keep itself alive. This process is very hard on your kidneys and liver, since it makes them work really hard to process lipids and proteins.
I am glad to have had the bloodwork done, since this is something I can never get a regular MD to do. The wholistic approach is an excellent idea, I just don't think this guy is really doing that. Unfortunately the bottom line is Dr. Asa's bottom line. After my first visit with Dr. Asa ($150 out of my pocket and I have EXCELLENT insurance) I went next door to his little shop and was handed a list of supplements I needed to buy that came to over a thousand dollars! (none of which is covered by my insurance, either) Sure, maybe his stuff is a lot better than what you can buy someplace else, but to insist that you can't substitute other similar products is unconscienable. It's like he's holding his patients' hope of wellness hostage. I started noticing the types of patients he had in his office. For the most part, they all looked like spoiled women from the up-scale side of town- Belle Meade Country Clubbers. Now that I've gotten most of the testing done I think I will finish with the ultrasound tests and call it quits. I will request a complete copy of my medical records and look for another Dr, but at least I will be fully informed about my health issues this time.

ARTICLE ABOUT DR. ASA ANDREW IN THE SEPT. 23, 2010 ISSUE OF THE NASHVILLE SCENE.
I do not recommend Dr. Asa at all! I was a witness to many patients leaving his office in tears b/c of the cost. He is committing healthcare fraud and should be stopped! Upon the first visit the office manager, Debbie, explained that "the charge that would be billed to the insurance company would be different than what I would actual pay because they have to overcharge to make it work out". Don't people go to jail for this stuff? That's why our healthcare system is out of control. I was prescribed brown bottle of nutritions that were 1/2 fl. oz in size and charged $65 and up! There were NO ingredients listed on them! For six months I asked for a complete list of ingredients and finally got a word document listing them (not on the bottle itself)! I personally paid over $5,000 for one year of services and supplements. And what's with the scrubs? Does that make him look more official?
